RIP Conner
Conner has a story similar to far too many bullies who end up in shelters across the nation! He was owned by irresponsible people who just left him outside. Conner was worm infested and neglected, but he had a loving and happy-go-lucky temperament. There was no reason not to save this young dog. Heroes was in the midst of trying to get Conner out of the shelter and placed into a loving foster home.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to him in time. The animal control officer was playing with the 3 unneutered male dogs at the shelter and all three were excited. She then went into Conner's cage to medicate him. Conner was still obviously excited and the ACO misread his excited puppy energy as aggression because he was a bully. Every day, Heroes rescues bullies with temperaments like yours. You deserved a fair chance, but ignorance won out. Heroes will continue to fight ignorance with all of our being in order to save more like you!
